About

I am a researcher primarily interested in seeking human health. For this reason, I have dedicated myself to generating basic knowledge from molecular medicine research and to transferring this knowledge to clinical application through the development of innovation in the treatment of patients with various diseases (prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, hypomagnesemia and diabetic retinopathy). Since 2015, I have refocused my interests on the early diagnosis of preventable diseases, notably with changes in lifestyle, but not only.

I joined the Institute of Neurobiology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2007, and started the Translational Research Laboratory in Visual Health in 2021.
